Plan to install this engine in another type of car,just looking at possible matches any one have any exp at this? need a little info, any gear heads know whats up with mercedes, its going in my 2x2 isuzu rodeo the gas 4cyl is junk good for nothing want a change for the best for the long haul, thank you for your help.

The 240d had 67 hp. on a good cool day. Slow but dependable. I would opt for the 300 SD turbo diesel With transmission. As for transmissions the Borg Warner gear box is specific to each MB model. Torque rev range specific too. The 240 had a really low gear to get it rolling that would not engage until you floored the throttle. Stick with apples to apples not oranges to apples. Several Borg Warner transmissions BMW ones too! will bolt up but might not work right
