The question of how much headshots can (or should) cost really can't be answered in a vacuum. It depends on a number of variables. For what purpose will you be using them? Color or black-and-white? Will you want/expect the photographer to do any retouching to the image? Will he be providing you with a custom print (from which you can get reproductions made)? Who will own/keep the negatives (or the DVD)? Will you be shooting in a studio, or in natural light? Is makeup provided?
Also...where are you? The market in which you're having shots done has a lot to do with the costs. Here in Los Angeles, it's not at all uncommon for actors to pay upwards of $500 for good headshots...and it's possible to pay a LOT more.
Bottom line: when you meet a prospective photographer, ask him/her to show you his/her portfolio. You want to work with a photographer who has a proven track record of producing the sorts of shots that YOU like. That way, you'll get shots you're happy with, and, regardless of the cost, you'll probably consider it money well spent.

It mostly depends on where you live. Other factors include if it's film vs. digital, how many shots you ended up with, how many looks/clothing changes you did (requires changing the lighting), did you use a stylist, was there any retouching done, etc.
I've paid anywhere from $50 for a friend to do them (got two great headshots out of that) to $300 for three rolls of film and three clothing changes. That was in Chicago- in NY and LA it would most likely be higher.

My friend who is a photography enthusiast took mine. It cost a bit to have them printed on 8 by 10 paper though.
Usually a good set of headshots will cost $100 and up.

it ranges depending on how professional you want it and on your area. FOr me, a sitting cost 50 dollars and it cost about 100 dollars for the picture package but I went with a couple of shots. It really depends on what you want

About $200 plus retouching and processing. Go digital - you should get a lot more shots for your money.
