I have an area on my back, that is like right below my neck but right above my shoulder blade on the left side. It isn't painful all the time but there are times it hurts and then there are times it itches and times that it is like a burning pain. Somtimes all three. It's really weird. I had asked my doctor about it one time and she said it was just a muscle cramp or something like that but I don't know. It really worrys me sometimes. Anyone have any other thoughts to what it might be. Not sure if needed to know but I am a white female, almost 40 years old.

Any serious thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Stress can do alot to your body.
I wouldn't worry to much about it right now.
but if it persist, keep nagging your dr. about
it till he finds some solution for you.

I think they used to call that bursitis which my husband said was Latin for "shoulder hurts".

Actually I sometimes have the same thing. Are you a lefty? If it were your right side I would say it was from repetitive movement like using a mouse. Do you do any type of repetitive movement with your left side? Do you sleep on your left side? You could try keeping a journal of when these symptoms occur that would help your doctor pinpoint the cause.

It may be your posture. Most women always sit or stand slightly hunched over and it strains your muscles. Try rolling your shoulders back, straightening the rest of your back, and kind of pushing your boobs out at all times. Not only will you stop hurting but you will look more confident and you will appear thinner!

This is a common site for an expression of stress and anxiety. See what your situation is next time you have it.

Trust your doctor. He sees a lot of health situations and you just see your own.
