News reported that according to Israel Radio (in Hebrew) Kol Yisrael an acrimonious argument erupted during the Israeli cabinet weekly session last week between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and "turn the US against us. "Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America.

If you are an anti-Semite Israel controls everything. If you learn from facts then NO.
Basically if you believe in Conspiracy Theories you are wrong. It is one reason why the Nations of the Middle East don't get along with each other, regardless of ethnicity, religion, wealth, etc.
Rational people IMMEDIATELY tune out anyone that starts talking about conspiracies.
Perhaps a better explanation for the Ariel Sharon comment is found in the space between someone speaking Hebrew being reported in English and a foreigner trying to make a subtle political point about another country's political situation.
America and Israel work toward similar goals not because they are run BY THE JEWS. Instead, they have similar values are Western Nations in orientation and are civilized unlike MUslim/Arab nations that make fidelity to Sharia Law more important than educating women, or religious tolerance, or economic development. America will never side with nations that understand parents sending their own children to be suicide bombers.
