My mother has lived in her home in LKW. Ca. for 50yrs.& a car has been parked in the backyard for 30yrs. now the city is saying she has to move it.

Call your county planning and zoning office for a copy of the current regulations. I wouldn't be a bit surprised that as your area grew, these types of regulations were adopted.

well yes and no... if its parked on grass or dirt no. you have to have cement under it. my friend had the same problem in orange, CA. after that car was there nearly forever the city sent a notice that it had to move. They are afraid that gas, oil and such will leak into and contaminate the ground.

usually this happens because one of the neighbors called in a complaint, probably a new neighbor after all the car was in the backyard for 30 years.

In the town I live in as long as the vehicle has current license and registration, you can park it...if not, it has to be moved. It doesn't matter what it looks like, either.

id build a shed around it.in my town in maine we have a 5 car limit then you need a junkyard permit for more which are easy to get.

that's pretty weird...i'd talk to town hall about that...maybe there's something going on in which it has to be moved...maybe it's one of those righteous groups of people that wants the car out so the neighborhood looks better....i hate those people!!!

also if you find out the "why"....you can find out a way around it.....
