i live in tn,we do not have do it yourself&do not have alot of money any laws that are similar to common law?

Seperated for 16 yrs was your first mistake and now your getting ready to make your second mistake.
So keep it simple and sweet. Go to probate court and ask for the forms for divorce uncontested. You poay the court cost of something like $90.00 and thats it its over.

Look in your local stationary store you should be able to find a do it yourself kit. I know you say that you don't have any, you just need to look harder. I can't say look for a cheap lawyer, but they all want their money. Good Luck.
