quite often the bulb has 2 wires in it.
one for the lights
one for the brakes
If it was me, I'd change the bulb if your other brake light works

Did you check the switch on the brake pedal? Are the ground wires tight? If these don't solve the issue and the car is a 1996 or newer, you might want to take it in to a competent mechanic. These are usually controlled by a computer nowadays and you can really mess things up if you don't know what you're doing.

Key word seems OK buy a new bulb & try the bulb look inside the socket for burn marks corrosion ect. Cheep methiod swap the bulb with the one on the other side " note moving jarring could break a filiment and you might be buying two bulbs" Brake light filiment look closely is the thicker of the two filiments, one running lights with head lights, One filiment brake and turnsignal.

A good starting point is to find your brake light switch and check for power going in and when you push brake see if it s coming out,it should be down by your break peddle.

On many cars there are multiple lights in the back. If I were you I would have ALL of the lights changed where your brake lights are and if that did not work then go from there. My guess is that one of your lights are burned out.

There is a switch on the actual brake line that senses the brake.
If the bulb and Fuse are OK, it is probably that.

Check under the dash by the brake pedal...there is a brake lite switch located there on most models...Very simple to replace.

It is the brake reactor fusion switch, a common problem when everything in the circuit checks out OK. The switch needs to be manipulated from 36 to 38.8 degrees to be in line with the fluctuate micro tab.

Yes, there is a (i dont know how you call it) cut circuit in the light, maybe the land wire (i think is called like that, in spanish is "Cable a tierra") cut off, otherwise you have to buy the mechanism, is located at the back of the lights.
