Its harder because mommy and daddy arent there to tell you when to go to bed and to do your homework...its the first taste of freedom and its easy to get drunk on it.

If you can get into college the material isnt too hard for you, if you fail its because you're not trying hard enough...

Both. The material in college will be more difficult than what you most likely had in high school. The course subject may also depend on the professor doing the teaching. I know that a lot of students thought that the math and science courses were difficult. Some said it was difficult because of the professor or the subject itself or even both.

It also depends on the motivation of the student. Some subjects you may like or find to be easier than others. Some courses require more attention than others especially if you know that it you have difficulties in that particular area before. Your motivation to learn will have an affect on how you do. If you are motivated to learn even if the material is difficult then you should be fine.

Either way, you could always get someone to tutor you if you find that the material is diffiuclt (if you are motivated to learn).

College is probably harder for various reasons, and to varying degrees for different people. Personally, I believe that grades in college are a good indication of how high-school and the student's extracurricular pursuits have prepared him/her for college.
But college can also be "hard" because students sometimes get too involved in partying and sororities/frats. Young people might abuse the new freedom they get in college; once mommy is no longer around to moniter/nag the kid, the kid's grades go down the drain.
College really seems to be about how well a person manages his/her time. Lots of college students seem to say that time is so plentiful that they don't know what to do at times.

Both- the material is more advances, and the student is required to work more independently to acquire the knowledge. Maturity plays a large role in the students success.

This is a good question. I don't really think it is the material too much. Don't get me wrong, there is A LOT of material to obtain however, it solely depends on the students determination and self-discipline. Good luck!

I thinks it's both. I was getting straight A's before I transferred to a bigger university, and I kept the same studying methods (Basically studying right before exams)

At my new bigger school, I'm only doing average. But I know I could bring up my grades, but I just get lazy.

I think beacuse of th estudent. It's just like high school except you write a lot more and there are more people, just as with anything else you have to pace yourself.

In high school, the teachers are responsible for what you learn. In college YOU are responsible for what you learn.
