Because the teachers get sick of the kids and decide we should suffer the torment for a while lol xx

As the Site Manager of a London primary school, I can tell you that we need all six weeks to carry out all the cleaning and repair jobs that simply cannot be done while the children are here. This year, we are having a total refurbishment of the exterior of the school as well as having three classrooms painted, three pergolas and a short fence erected and three classrooms refurnished. There is absolutely no way that we could do all that without the 6 week closure. Oh and by the way, I will get just 5 days holiday myself. I have just finished work now and will be back next Saturday
I think for all my hard work and dedication, I deserve the 10 points......lol

To give the teachers a break from their stressful jobs. But more importantly, to allow families to be together.
Enjoy having your kids at home, after all why else did you have tem.? Believe me, all too soon they will be grown, and not need ing you. Then you will want them back.
Take them out, do things together. Money a problem? take a bottle of squash and a packet of biscuits to the local park, theyll enjoy your company.

Well in my school (M.E.M.S.) we use air-conditioning but its like trying to get a monkey to clean your room- it doesn't work..AT ALL. so in the late spring when we are in school it is so hot. I remember one day when i was in school i was getting to hot so i went to the nurse's office to maybe get some fresh water and lay down a bit. there where 32 kids in the nurses office and half of them where laying on the floor; there where 3 people on one bed and 2 on one chair..and they where all sleeping. It was just not healthy
It also smelled terribly. Im in middle school so you can just imagine how bad the gym lockers smell already! Well when it reaches 102 degrees in smells not just like sweat- like boiling sweat! and 1/4 of the kids in the school dont use deoderent!!! so it smells so bad it makes me wanna throw up!
Well during the school year- i dont see my mom that much, or dad for that matter it would be nice if i could see who they really are for once instead of seeing them for 3 hours after school everyday

well... so that the kids get a break from school.. the teachers also have a break and have chance to prepare work for the next school year, and so that CHILDREN CAN SPEND TIME WITH THEIR FAMILIES! i'm supposing your a mother.. or guardian.. think about your question seriously. - no, i mean seriously. are you ungrateful that you have 2 see your children?.. what sort of person are you??

i think its great that you want to go back to school and learn but the reason being is because teachers need a break just like us

I know I have been lumbered with my boyfriends kids and it sucks especially when the weather is this naff!! They are constantly moaning that they are bored and eating everything in sight!

in low income parts of california they have school year round, but they have the same number of school days we do, because they have their vacations spread out.
