Whats up with being GOTH??

Question

I am trying to understand what its about and why young people want to be goth?? HELP! Seems like more and more people and famous people as well (many young bands) are dressing in a goth fashion. I am not sure why or what its about??

I agree there is nothing wrong with it and I am not judging, jut trying to gain a deeper understanding!

ok, idk what ppl have told you about goths but it is not wearing black almost over ur entire body or being an outcast

ppl that r goth want to die, they dress in black stay away from socail situations, and they r not easy to get along with

ppl that dress in black and r happy or sad or mad are emo and that is different for two reasons
1 not all emos want to die
2 emos are EMOtional goths r not

just dressing in black doesnt make u a goth, being goth involves the feelings that come along with being goth. without those feelings u r punk and that is also different

Why don't you make friends with a goth person? Then I am sure you will have a better understanding and get to see the person underneath. That goes for ppl who have questions about ppl of other races as well. Instead of asking on here, try to interact with different ppl more. All you get here will be ppl's opinions which tend to be bias.

It's a way to express yourself and your individuality. Even though they "look alike" they really don't. I admire their ability to create the hair styles and the "look" and the added touch of creative accessories.

Two of my grandchildren are "Goth." It's a phase and they will grow out of it.

I wish young men would grow out of wanting to share their skinny behinds and their choice of boxers with the whole world. I hate that more than any fashion trend young adults are slaves to.

Sorry to tell you but most people who choose to 'be a goth' are not actually just making a fashion statement.
Why don't you try befriending a goth and finding out about their disillusionment...

a few goths and emo's i know feel that they're misunderstood and want to feel branded with people that feel the same way. they like the kind of punk/rock/grunge styles of music and just like being the way they are. they want to be individual but aren't because there are so many of them.

ok we kids want to be goth because we feel as if no one would understand us wich they dont i know alot of ppl who r goth and half of them are my friends and they want to be different and u might see ppl u think r goth but they arent they just like to wear black and the bands they only do that for speacial efects to the music videos

they're just expressing themselves and dressing in what they like.. and its not only young people either. i think it just seems like you're seeing more people do it now because its becoming more acceptable. and really whos to say what "goth" is ya know? in whos eyes? i think its great that people arent afraid to be themselves and they dont care what others think.

The reason why people want to be goth is because they want to break alway from what society wants them to be. They want to be unique in their own way.

Um...it's fashion. They think it makes them stand out and look different. But as everyones doing it they all look the same.
