Ever seen the way a cat dashes of the curb, flinging itself in front of a vehicle and killed instantly. I think it is possible that the cat was contemplating suicide and well aware of the on-coming vehicle.what do you think?
can you provide me with more animal suicide evidence?

I don't see why you need our opinions. You have already reached a weird conclusion by yourself. You saw an example of bad judgment on the part of an animal that was preoccupied with some instinct (like chasing a squirrel into the street) and built a human- like fantasy from it. I think you need to divert yourself into more useful areas of mental effort or you will lose more of your own cognitive thoughts.

I'm staying clear of the suicide bit, but the fact that several animals are using tools, and that for instance chimps have a complex family structure, is in my mind evidence enough for cognitive thought, though at a somewhat lower level than us humans - politicians excepted, ofcourse.

I think we can see beyond a doubt that many animals do! Certainly reasoning can be seen in primates and in many other mammals. And look at Dolphins!

I think the difference between us is that they have consciousness and we have 'meta - consciousness'. This means that whilst they are aware, we are aware of our own awareness.

Animals have instinct alone. They don't have any reasoning skills. That is one of the things that separates humans from animals.
