i saw it on TV that people celebrate the festival by hanging up a donkey-like dummy which's full of candy and a blindfolded kid try to hit it with a stick, when the dummy is finally cracked, the kids will pick up the candy falling out of it. That's very funny custom

The dummy type thing is a pinata. They make them in all sorts of sizes and shapes, animal figures, etc. They are made out of paper mache and then covered with crepe paper in colorful array. They are hollow inside so you can put whatever you want in them, money, candy, toys etc. They are used for any kind of party, birthday, holiday, for children to whack and break open. Then all of the kids run in and grab as much booty as they can. They were originally very popular in the Hispanic culture and have crossed over into mainstream American culture as a fun thing to do at birthday parties for young children.

Cinco de Mayo? The Mexican Independance day?

That silly donkey is called a pinata, and it's full of treats for kids...like a goody bag for american kids, but it's more fun to try to break it open.....
