Teenager life is the best part of one's life. It is inbetween child phase and adult phase. Lots of confusion. Lots of finding out about self. Lots of wanting to be an individual. Lots of fun. Enjoy this period.

Great! A time for adventure and finding out. Now that we have grown out of our parents constant supervising/advice stage when we were much younger i.e don't do this, don't do that, this is good for you etc (but that doesn't mean our parents will let go of these reins just yet), we are ready to explore. Time to find out for ourselves what were taught to us, if they work! Time to learn about making decision, responsibility and looking after ourselves. It is also a crucial and dangerous time - mix with the wrong company or learning the wrong things, the consequences and repercussions can be severe. When in doubt, it's still better to ask ... our parents :-)

With today's negative music, "sex & money" are everything attitude in media, or general apathy, I think teens are in the greatest survival period of their lives.
The teens I know 'want' to be depressed because it is so dramatic. If they are not doing that, they are engaging in all types of sexual behavior (either out of boredom or out of trying to shock those around them). The most recent trend has been the staggering increase of homosexual activity because it is just "natural," or "fun," or "naughty," or "just exploring." GIRLS at graduation are mostly into boys, but for the guys, it seems to release them of whatever social expectations they did not want to face.
Speaking of boys, it seems that with the XBox, PSP's, etc., boys never seem to grow up - they just get bigger bodies (and some may get a job, but that's just to buy the latest toys). Our society has gravitated toward a society of MOTHERS because the women do seem to mature while the little boys play. They don't even seem to have any desire to get out of their "short pants" that used to indicate little boys.
