Yesterday in Green Bay, Wisconsin (Go Packers) the President used the term, "war on Islamic facists" and today in the paper Parvez Ahmed didn't like the "religion of peace" equated with fascism.
Hey - I'm "upset" that members of your "so-called" PEACEFUL religion want to bomb the hell out of us!
Yeah - I'm mad too. Where's the Associated Press to cover MY anger.
Does Islam go far enough in distancing themselves from the terrorists? I say NO.

I asked a 22-yr old Muslim girl: "why don't Muslims speak out and condemn terrorist acts against civilians?" She replied: "we're not supposed to criticize fellow Muslims' actions against people not of the same religion."
It seemed to me that Muslims' silence itself condones the acts committed by terrorists. That's why Islam is being demonized.

As far as Islamic anything being upset about that term, if they would do everything possible to flush 'em out, then there may be a better way to put it. And to the link between Tim McVeigh and Terrorism, McVeigh did not bomb the Federal Building in the name of God or Jesus Christ. He also went through pains to distance himself from Christianity, but such distinctions seem to have been missed.

Islam was meant to be a peaceful religion. You cannot associate all Muslims with the terrorism that is going on today.
Assuming that you are an American, how would you feel if another country's president said, "American scum"? Even if you know that the person isn't referring to you, you'd probably feel uncomfortable over the fact that they linked your race to a word with such connotations.
Besides, Bush has never been popular for his language and choice of words. "Islamic fascists" was yet another poor way of putting things.

Most Islamic groups are very willing to make comments (and publish cartoons) about other religions but seem to feel that their faith is above and beyond such comments. It is time they woke up and saw what is being done in the name of Islam.
