Yes they are. All of them. Don't believe anything they tell you.

Some can be, but you have to consider that its their personality not their profession. You get jerks in any profession. I think that some doctors still have that "I'm better than you" complex, but I have worked in healthcare all my life and that attitude has been changing over the last few years.
If your doctor is a jerk, refer yourself to another one.

Some are, some aren't.
Some get into medicine for power, money or other reasons that have nothing to do with healing. Some are genuinely interested in healing people.
Bottom line, it doesn't really matter whether a doctor is a jackass or a jerkoff or a pissant, so long as he knows his stuff and can cure you.
Medicine is a science. Its practitioners are human beings. If they are good practitioners, they really don't need to be good human beings.

No I don't. I think doctors can save or prolong our lives if we listen to them. There can be a personality conflict as with any other human being, so you may need to shop around for a doctor you feel comfortable with. I've found if I treat them with the respect due, they will treat me that way as well.

Absolutely. They just expect the nurse to get all the questions down and give the file to the doctor-- even if you go to the same doctor forever,, they don't know you. They are just pompous asses sometimes and they think they know all the answers... They treat people like a slab of meat laying on a table-- They give cryptic answers to your problem-- ok, you've got me started... I have to stop before I burn out my keyboard!!!

No. I think they are human beings. Sometimes they make mistakes. Sometimes they are arrogant. Some of them don't know what compassion is. But I have some of those faults too, and I'm not a doctor.
