you mean defense from terrorism?

It's certainly a strong issue for them, but it always comes back to the economy.

The Republican tax cuts have had the economy surging the last few years--this even despite high fuel prices.

I think the question will be do people want to risk voting Democrat only to have them raise taxes, stalling the economy and taking us back to another 70s/Carter malaise.

My guess is that the risks, both to national security and the economy, are too great for the people to be willing to vote Democrats into office in great numbers.

if this is an example...then no WASHINGTON - While the British terror suspects were hatching their plot, the Bush administration was quietly seeking permission to divert $6 million that was supposed to be spent this year developing new homeland explosives detection technology. Congressional leaders rejected the idea, the latest in a series of steps by the Homeland Security Department that has left lawmakers and some of the department's own experts questioning the commitment to create better anti-terror technologies

Does the sun rise in the East? Does a bear crap in the woods? Is Bush a war criminal? Of course they will win because America has a skid mark in their underwear a mile long and a yard deep. And if they do somehow reject the Cabal of Evil get ready for another "terrorist attack".

Maybe. Personally, I would like to vote out all current politicians, just because they seem to be working for the rich special interest groups...those who contributed to their campaigns. And this includes all Dems and Reps. I want to vote in new blood and if they do not work for the common man, vote them out when time for re-election. Eventually the politicians will start working for all of us.

Hon, didn't you hear?

Republicans don't go to all that trouble to "win" the peasant's tawdry "votes", anymore.

Why, they just run off with the chads...
