I hav just started looking at this site, and I'm surprised at how many people ask a question and then get answers back saying "I don' know" or "I have no idea," I mean, what is the point of even answering?? (Except for getting more points)

You answered your own question. It's all about two lousy points.

It also shows everyone else how greedy, lazy, and inconsiderate the majority of the people on YA are for the sake of points which yet have to be good for anything but levels.

1) They want points, those points-obsessing bastards, exp. MMORPG players.
2) They think that they need to say something because they've seen this question. They want to be honest and to convince themselves that they had done something to 'help' the asker by 'responding'.
3) They want to see their nicks on the bloody webpage.

When you really think about it, what is the point of any of us answering any of the questions posted here? It's not like we're experts or anything like that. More like bartenders serving the customers one more for the road...
