i think the official line is, he tripped while rehearsing a dance in the early 80's and broke his nose and while he was getting it repaired, decided to make his nose smaller because he was always getting teased about his nose looking like his fathers nose

I heard he started to do his nose before the Pepsi comercial because his father always told him that he has a big nose and I think that in his mind turned him to plastic surgery to try to get rid of that old look.It would have been interesting to see him now without surgery. Would he have had the same success?Who knows?Well, unfortunetly we'll never find out.

I thought everyone knew, he was doing a pepsi ad when his hair caught fire, it affected his face an all and he had plastic surgery. Why he became white, maybe to try and help sort out racial issues around the world. A black man with white skin.

Michael has always been conscious abouth his looks becouse he was bullied by his own father when growing up. Given nicknames like "big nose" or whatnot. I guess he started sometime in the eighties, when he had the first and best oppurtunity. I like Michael Jackson, and think he's been treated unfairly by the media.

You know whats really sad is that he was a really nice looking guy to begin with. Lack of self esteem led to the surgery. Pretty tragic considering he was viewed as one of the most talented people ever before that. Became a laughing stock after that. Idiot.

Can everyone stop picking on poor MJ. He had a pretty sucky childhood - his Dad called him ugly, picked on his big nose, and after he was a child star, fans would come up to him and remark how ugly he had become. That's just really sad. If that happened to me, I would have gotten surgery too.

He may well have body dysmorphic disorder, which causes the sufferer to see flaws in their appearance that aren't there. They become obsessed with their appearance and often become addicted to plastic surgery, trying to fix these perceveid flaws. b

When he was in that recent case I hoped he was innocent, and that he'd conned the newspapers into slandering him. Would have been great to see a few tabloid newspapers facing massive payouts.
