Awesome pictures!
There have to be other intelligent creatures out there, somewhere. Perhaps our galaxy has been photograped from a distant camera, and is being used as wallpaper far away, and some little alien guy asks his fellow citizens questions like, "Don't you think Zopping Yeeeeom is the cutest Drebnau ever? I love her little blue Dipnoids,", and, "Want to look at my Klagstroom?"

I think there is probably life on planets far away, but I don't think any of these Et's have been on earth. Distances are too great for that. Nothing material can travel at the speed of light. The nearest star is Sol our Sun. Light takes eight minutes to travel from Sol to Earth. The next nearest stars are in the Alpha Centauri system over four light years away. Someone mentioned Eric van Daniken. He is a charlatan. Several scientists have disproven his silly ideas. I read his books some years ago,and I was skeptical. All too many people are ready to believe anything and often the more foolish it is the better they like it.

I believe in there could be another planet with life form.
We might never find this out.
Makes you wonder?????
When you think about it a bit deeper, unless the planet is like earth EXCACT.
makes you wonder what kind of creatures or plants could be there.
If it is like earth in everyway thing would have evolved simulair.
But if there is slight difference who knows.
Even earth has some wierd looking creatures.
If there was aliens visiting earth they are extremly intelligent.
I had one expieriance many years ago:
It was middle of the afternoon hot bright day.
Just walking along a country lane, Suddenly it went dull, like a big dark cloud above, I looked up to see the dark cloud.
I was stunned HONEST AND I SWEAR ON MY MOTHERS LIFE!!!!
I saw this huge Space ship/ machine whatever you want to call it, But it was 50 times bigger man has ever built with no sound at all.
This was moving slowly then it disapeared right in front of my eyes?
Did it zoom off or went invisable????.
I never take drugs, and did not drink then.
Was it a goverment thing or was i not well at the time, I will never know!!!!!
I often wonder why nobody else saw this, or did they? was they like me thinking who the bloody hell going to believe me.

Of course, it also depends on what your definition of alien is. An yes there's life out there in space. Bacteria and some other microorganisms. Itss just that I guess the world is not ready to admit it yet. Just like in old days, people wasnt used to use microwaves. Just imagine if u could take a microwave back to the 18th centrury, people would accuse you of withcraft. I guess we are just ignorants, and the more we know the more we are curious and the more other people with closed minds refuse to accept these changes.

Given that our galaxy contains hundreds of billions of stars, and it's just one of hundreds of billions of galaxies - then I find it incredible that we could be all alone in this vastness.
We have proved that life CAN exist - so why assume that it doesn't anywhere else?
There's no proof, or even evidence, one way or another. But I'm as convinced as I possibly can be that life - aka aliens - is all over the universe.
(Thanks for the wonderful Hubble pics, btw)

Sure. The odds support it.
In the 1960 a scientist named Frank Drake calculated the odds that we would contact an alien civilization. His equation is:
N= [r* x fp x ne x fl x fi x fc] L where:
N= number of possible civilizations to communicate with
R* = is the rate at which stars capable of sustaining like are formed
fp = the fraction of these stars which have planets
ne = the number of planets similar to Earth in the planetary system
fl = the fraction of the Earth-like planets that hold life
fi = the fraction of life that becomes an intelligent civilization
fc = the fraction intelligent civilizations that attempt to communicate
L= the number of years the civilization remains able to communicate.
If you start with a figure of around 400 billion stars in our galaxy and an estimate of several hundred billion galaxies....say 100 billion to be conservative) then we start with 400 billion billion stars. The odds are that somewhere there's at least one star with a planet capable of supporting life and on which life exists.

I agree about the wallpaper; I have the Crab Nebula photo from Hubble as my wallpaper, and it inspires me every time I look at it.
Is there life out there? Maybe. Perhaps there was at one time in various places and the advanced versions (analogous to humans) figured out how to destroy themselves and the other life forms in their vicinity... similar to the way we're working up to destroy all life that we know.
We could be the last of life in the universe, and be the only chance to re-seed our galaxy. You never know.

Considering at the vastness of the universe we live in, one must assume that there are life forms somewhere out there. We may not be in contact with them at present, we may not have any definitive proof of their existence till today, but it doesn't mean that they don't exist. There may be thousands of reasons why we are not in contact yet, we may not be able to contact them successfully within a long time to come, but they are there; life exists in some corner of the universe just as it exists on earth. Those alien life forms may be more developed than us, they may not be as developed as we are -- we have to keep trying to find out where they are, and someday there will be a positive finding that confirms the existence of alien life.

I think one would have to be very shallow minded not to think there were any more life out there, other than us human beings, however, I don't believe that these hubble photos indicate this theory, although they are quite amazing to look at.
