Unless you have household help, that seems the most efficient way to do it.

What I do is bathe&shampoo first. Turn off water. Then I take a spray cleaner, and spray one side of the shower. Then I take my cleaning brushes and stuff and clean this part of the shower. Then I turn the water back on and aim the water to rinse where I cleaned. I repeat this till the shower is clean. Then I rinse myself off once more just to get rid of any chemicals that may have gotten on me. Oh - I'll also hold my breath while spraying the cleanser.

No, I do it after showering. I'm watching your question though, because I can't figure out how you can do it while showering without exposing yourself to the toxic chemicals...
Would be great if you could explain in the comments after you pick your best answer...
Edit: Cool, thanks for the detail :-) Not sure I'd like those chemicals around while I'm in the shower though so I'll stick to what I do.

Actually I do, after I dried off with my towel, I dry the shower walls with it and then throw the towel in the laundry.
It helps keeping the shower cleaner longer. But the really big clean up I do with a mop, this way I can reach all the way up to the ceiling. And not during my shower.

I've tried doing this right afte taking my shower, and wiping the stall sides clean, so that mildew wont' grow on the wall sides. You also have to remember that the longer you let the water run, the more water you waste.

YES My nanna always told me to clean the shower when i was finished showering, so there was no soap scum left on it. I now find myself asking the same thing from my daugther. It makes life so much easier.
