why can't they accept each other as equal? No more restriction in inter-caste marriages (for example) and superiority complex over their fellow indians from different caste.

WELL I TO WISH THEY COULD LIVE IN PEACE WITH THEIR KINDS, BUT ALAS, THAT IS NOT TO BE THE CASE I GUESS.

IT IS LIKE THE SHIAS & SUNNIS IN THE MUSLIM FAITH, CATHOLICS & PROTESTANTS IN CHRISTIANITY...............THE INDIAN CASTE SYSTEM IS GUIDED/CRAFTED BY RELIGION, WHICH IS FURTHER FINE TUNED TO SUIT POLITICAL/ECONOMICAL & EVEN ERSONAL INTERESTS................

IT IS FAR TOO DEEP ROOTED TO BE REMOVED/SOLVED IN THE NEXT FEW HUNDRED YEARS................ONE CAN DO A CASE STUDY ON THIS TOPIC ACTUALLY

Well, the caste system has been so ingrained for centuries together that it is difficult to get rid of it. But nowadays inter caste marriages are being accepted (of course after a lot of heartburn). But then every religion has its own caste system and not every one is treated equally there.

Their religion,Hinduism,dictates the caste system. It has been like this since 5000 years ago. Hindus are very faithful and they practice their religious traditions the way they used to since long time ago.
