Yeah, why wouldn't you?

Only thing is it will be a little more difficult, but if you are that intent of adopting then you will be able to do it.

The only reason it's going to be more difficult is because you aren't a family. But, as long as you have a stable income and a good home you will be just fine.

I'm not convinced this would be a good idea unless there were a shortage of two-parent families and certainly, preference should be given to the latter. A child would simply have a better life (with other factors being equal). The same would apply to a single woman seeking to adopt.

yes, it can be done..... but it is a long grueling process! Be ready to put into this a lot of time, effort, and $. You are going to be more likely to adopt a child from another country if you want to go younger.. but if you are willing to adopt older you can do it in the US.

Yes but you would need to prove that you can provide a stable loving environment and probably show that you have respectable female friends and relatives that can be good role models for the child.

Yes, there are lots of children who need to be adopted. You have to meet certain guidelines to qualify for adoption though.
