I have noticed that the dorsum (back) of my hands give off body odour when I sweat. This has started only a month or so ago. I have not heard that this could happen.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I would think about any changes in your diet or life style in the past month that could have started this first. Even a new soap or lotion maybe disagreeing with your chemistry. Also, I would make sure I'm getting enough water so that toxins can be flushed out through your kidneys and bladder and won't have to escape through your skin. With the heat wave over the past month, you may not be getting enough water. We're supposed to have at least 64 oz or more per day.
You could also apply a scent free talc powder to the back of your hands after washing your hands.

I have never heard of this problem before. The first thing you should do is consult your doctor to see what, if anything can be done. In the meantime, try to frequently wash your hands during the day to remove or keep the new odor secretions down.

Baking soda is very good at handling odor. Perhaps you can find an old pocket sized lotion container and make a solution of baking soda, water and a few drops of olive oil so it's not too greasy. Apply it after every hand wash and see if it helps. Sometimes home remedies work wonders!

There is a product I know of that might help too. It is made by Arbonne International. Don't laugh, but the herbal diaper rash cream keeps the skin dry. My personal experience with this product was for eczema. If you are familiar with eczema, you know the fine rash that develops secrets a fluid that keeps it spreading. Well, I used the diaper rash cream - among 2 other products and they dried it up, healed the area and even brought the skin back to its normal color. You can take a look here...

Maybe you could try applying some clear stick deodorant on them. Try mennen speed stick ocean surf scent. Then ask your doctor what diet would be good for resolving the issue.Meanwhile try to lighten up on garlic and onions.

What you eat comes out in your pores when you sweat. Stay away from "offensive" foods or spicy ones. Beer stench is nasty when you sweat!
