Bad person and bad president, definitely.

Those who believe that the Bush administration is truly trying to protect American freedoms are either ignorant or deluded. The fact is, we have lost more liberties since G.W. Bush became president than during any administration since Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The Associated Press provided the following list of some of the fundamental liberties that have been lost under Bush:

*FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION: Government may monitor religious and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity to assist terror investigations.

*FREEDOM OF INFORMATION: Government has closed once- public immigration hearings, has secretly detained hundreds of people without charges, and has encouraged bureaucrats to resist public records questions.

*FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Government may prosecute librarians or keepers of any other records if they tell anyone that the government subpoenaed information related to a terror investigation.

*RIGHT TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION: Government may monitor federal prison jailhouse conversations between attorneys and clients, and deny lawyers to Americans accused of crimes.

*FREEDOM FROM UNREASONABLE SEARCHES: Government may search and seize Americans' papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigation.

*RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.

*RIGHT TO LIBERTY: Americans may be jailed without being charged or being able to confront witnesses against them.

The most disturbing thing about this is the total apathy and indifference of the vast majority of the American people to these tyrannical abridgments of our freedoms. Beyond that, people who shout the loudest about protecting our freedoms are also the loudest supporters of a man who has done much to eviscerate our freedoms.

Because of the broad support of conservatives and Christians, Bush has been able to do what Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Janet Reno could never do: dismantle our constitutional, God-given liberties.

All my life I've been told you have to look out for number 1. That is exactly what dubbya has been doing. So he's a normal person.

Just because him and his cronies are getting wealthy while the standard of living of avg. Americans deteriorate. doesn't make him a bad president.

His only problem is his advisers (come on now can any ONE person be so stupid... it takes a group)

bad bad bad.
he's just no good for the rest of the world. nothing he does is productive in anyway
it's almost like he's intentionally out there to ruin the world. i don't understand anything he does.
bad person, bad president, and it's a shame (and a shock) that hes the most powerful person in the world. what he says goes... even when the rest of the world disagrees. i dislike him immensely

Georgie boy has all the best intentions, and when he first came into office I thought it was great that he was surrounding himself with the "old guard" that had been there and done that before. Unfortunately, it seems that he may not have chosen the best advisers. You can't blame GB for all that ails the world, he is getting bad advice. Admittedly, he has to take responsibility for the actions of our country, and I think that is where people have lost faith. GB seems unwilling to admit that we screwed stuff up, which causes people not to trust him.

Good person who loves his country. A President who cares for his people even at the cost of his own reputation. Now that's a leader!!

How many leaders have we seen flip flop like a fish on a topic just so they can get re-elected?

rich person from rich family. tough to say good or bad person. but the rich do tend to see the rest of us as 'the help'.

uncurious, faith based, simplistic minded president with good political instincts and advisor (karl rove). makes decisions with his gut feelings rather than some thoughtful, rigorous process of strategic analysis

Bush is a good man who inherited a bad situation from a bad man. He is probably doing as well as anyone could considering the world situation. My main problem is border security which is no easy situation with which to deal. Terrorism grew under Clinton because he did nothing to stop it; now we are dealing with a monster.
