I just got a "Gaming for points" violation for posting simply: "Two points, thanks" to an unintelligible question. I've never gotten this before despite giving this answer several times in the past. I was wondering if one must be reported in order to receive a violation. I see many of the following violations all the time:

NO POINT-GAMING: Posting answers like: 2 points! Thanks!
NO REPEATED POSTINGS: This happens all the time
USE ENGLISH ONLY: I see foreign languages and symbols all the time
CATEGORIZATION: I see mis-categorized questions frequently.

Should we report these? Would Answers moderators be overwhelmed if we did? I would like your input on this issue.

'nuff said?

Someone was being a Poop. If you ask a silly question there will be silly answers. There are many answers just for points. People ask questions that provoke them. Don't worry about it. Worse are the questions and answers with profanity and inanity.

Well, I guess that its just like the law. People know its there, but don't follow it. I try to answer questions respectfully, honest, well thought out and spelling and grammar correct. If people come on this site and either ask or answer questions and want people to respond to them, then they should sound somewhat intelligent. If you ask stupid questions, expect stupid answers. I guess to answer your question, yeah, they would be overwhelmed with reports. If you want to report them, then do. I'm not sure how many other people will.

I think that violation has been there.
I wouldn't take it personal. Some people are just too over zealous.
