As far as atmosphere is concerned, pure oxygen would be too much of a good thing. the mixture and percentages of gasses, basically oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, are all essential for our survival and our world's survival. Plants for example "breathe in" carbon dioxide (and "exhale" oxygen). In order to survive we would need our plants. Also pure oxygen would be a giant fire problem as it feeds flames.

Pure oxygen is also very volitile, one spark and the whole atmosphere would start burning. We are about 20% oxygen and most of the rest nitrogen.

Oxygen is used as an essential reactant in our body's chemical reactions. To react with oxygen, we need the chemicals in our food and water also.

Under the conditions you suggest the slightest spark would set off a conflagration, since O2 supports burning. It is not itself flammable.
