where abouts are they on a laptop, is there anywhere they are sometimes hidden?

the Ir ports aren't hidden [wouldn't work if so]
it looks like a small square glassy dark surface somewhere on the sides or front of the laptop, usually with a sign 'Ir'. Same in your phone, same as a tv's remote ...
It wouldn't hurt you to check the laptop's manual ...

It can be postioned anywhere depending on the laptop. My first laptop had it at the back. My current laptop has it at the left side.
It's usually a small square section with a different texture, usually looks shiny. Its indicator is a small circle with three curved lines at the top.

never know them to be hidden. must be somewhere along the sides or rear of the laptop (make sure from your manual that your laptop is equipped with one!) happy searching!

it totally depends upon your labtob even if it has one....and usually they are on the right side.....look closely at the the comp for something that luks like plastic or differnet from the rest of the material the lab is made off...something like an eye!
