No, your cat does not have anxiety. Cats are one demanding creatures. They're predators. Cats get bored easily. Your cat is just bored. It wants to do something--play. Petting and cuddling won't solve it. When the cat is meowing, it's trying to tell you something. It's a good sign, that means the cat is talking to you ;) Get him/her some toys. Get a stick, tied a string with a feather or mice, and have the cat chase it or try to catch it. Play hide'n seek with it. Cats are like dogs---they need to burn their energy too. If they don't, everything gets booted up inside and they'll go crazy (running around the house, knocking things down, etc..). Because cats are predators, it is their nature to hunt! Get something that it will chase after. Cats are more active at night than day time. The younger they are, the more energy and playful they are. Get a scratchy pole to save your furnitures, cat nips, and toys. Again, they get bored easily so a non-moving mice won't do much.

Why not try a combination of yoga, massage, and progressive muscle relaxation? Not one of these methods would be enough to reduce stress alone, but as a combination can be effective in reducing stress. It is unreasonable to think that stress reducing relaxation techniques can give you total relief from stress. It can help with stress levels if done on a regular basis.

I'm also not going through menopause, but have anxiety attacks sometimes. I think it's natural.
