When one blocks certain people, is that person notified or are their messages sent anyway?

I have several people blocked that I do not want to receive messages from. Are these people notified that they are blocked or are they able to type messages anyway. even tho I do not receive them? Thanks

Usually if you block someone, they will not know that you actually blocked them. You will appear offline all the time to those you have blocked, even if your online. If they try to send you a message, it will say your offline.

I have never been blocked but I believe that they are informed that you will not receive emails from them
