Hey Dramp! My dad was a professional opera singer, so I was witness to a lot of singing/throat issues.

Of course, resting your vocal chords will definitely help. You can make a tea of sage leaves and gargle with the solution - room temp. Sage is healing and it is an astringent, so it will help with secretions due to the inflammation.

There are slippery elm lozenges that are fabulous for irritated vocal chords. Healthfood stores, sometimes even grocery stores in the pharmacy department.

Lastly, you can strengthen your vocal chords and avoid hoarseness by exercising. I don't know how to describe some vocal exercises here - but I would assume, if you looked it up on Google you might find something.

Only time will due that. There are meds to relieve the pain associated with the hoarseness, but only time will cure you.

Gargle with 1/2 benadryl and 1/2 mylanta do not swallow you can do this every two hours or honey lemon and hot water, and rest your voice.
