I won't pretend to be terribly educated on the issue... but i saw someone answer a question that they-

"didn't see christians blowing up any busses"

The conflict in northern Ireland was between protestants and catholics, with heavy terrorist activity.

I feel this has NO reflection on christainity...

but this has perhaps opened my eyes on the 'not all muslims are terrorists...etc' arguement.

in response to the argument that christians are not called to kill 'infidels'-

what percentage of christans do what TRUE CHRISTIANS are called to do?

most of us just use the principles as a loose moral guide.... and to quell our occasional fears of death.

I grew up christian and am a part of this society... i barely do anything the bible says.

could there be a muslim equivalent to me? i hope so, and i hope he is not roped in with osama, like i dont wanna be lumped in with certain christians...

Good point. But we are not commanded to kill in the New Testament. However, Muslims are commanded to kill all non-muslims...infidels, they call them.

True Christians are not killers, but true muslims kill. fact. Read the quran and read the Bible. Compare.

Northern Ireland is the only region in the Christian World where Catholics and Protestants are actively at war with each other, and even this is more about nationalism than anything else. Since they were created in the early 1910's the IRA has just wanted an independent Ireland, and the UK, Orange Order, Royal Ulster Constabulary, and the Protestant Paramilitary groups formed by them have vehemently thwarted this effort. The Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921 is a screw-job from the old British desire to maintain imperial rule. The Orange Order(which was the first true hate group, instead of the Ku Klux Klan) is all about Protestant domination and making up whacked-out conspiracy theories involving the Catholic Church, while the IRA was originally much more accommodating of Protestants, as is the Republic of Ireland itself today. What damages their cause is their association with communists and nations that sponsor terror, like Libya, Cuba, and their Colombian puppets known as FARC. So, I already know that terrorism isn't necessarily a "muslim thing," but most terrorists that use religion as an excuse for their bloodshed are in fact Islamic jihadists, whether they're pro-Iranian Shiites, or Al-Qaida loving Sunnis.

Oh, and check out the flag of Ireland. The colors are Green, White and Orange. The Green is for Catholics, Orange is for Protestants, and White is for Peace.

I'm a Christian and to from what I've seen. True muslims are peaceful people. My Muslim friends have been among the nicest people I've met. I'm really happy to have them as friends.

Like the Bible, the Quran can be mis-understood. Even in the Bible in the beginning, the Old Testament, you see a lot of killing of non-Christians and it almost seems as if God wants Christians to kill others that aren't Christians. However, in the later chapters and New Testament, it is a message of peace and acceptance of other cultures, religions, etc. The same is with the Quran. It just depends on how you interpret it.

The terrorist are actually very smart...they're targeting people who are down-trodden, depressed, young...these people are easily confused and living in a country with seemingly no future...they feel as if they've got nothing to lose and the terrorist seem like a gateway to paradise.

Christianity has a long, sickening, and oh so bloody history of repression, torture, murder. And not isolated incidents of religious intolerance but massive, organized, AUTHORIZED attempts to bury all they perceived as a threat to their wealth and power.

But Christians prefer to forget that detail. Just as they prefer to forget the detail that Mohamed was a prophet of peace, as was Jesus...and that the vast majority of Muslims in this world just want to live, have a decent job, raise their kids.

We're never going to learn to live with each other unless EVERYone on EVERY side takes
the damned blinders off...

I believe that terrorists come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities & races.

There'll always be a bad apple in the barrel, be it they are granny smiths or pink lady or fujis. But you won't say that all Granny Smiths are smelly or wormy right?

religion blinds people.

All those whose oil and wealth America wants to steal are TERRORISTS. Incidently, they are Muslim nations at present.

To Ms Fremont who answered above.....can you please tell me where in the Koran it instructs that all infidels should be killed? A specific reference would be very handy indeed.
