No I know right from wrong. My temperment doesn't change that. If I'm angry at a black man I don't make racist remarks. I deal with the issue that's causing the conflict. His race has nothing to do with it. Even if I'm called a honky or cracker I try to get back to what the problem is not my pasty white skin. The N word is more hurtful than anything they could call me.

I have found too many people of every race, color and religion that were very pleasant to be around. So I can not be racial when I think of the friends that I have made and realize just because a "group" of a specific origin is making a bad name for their people that all are bad. There is not one race of people that all believe the same thing, they as individuals have their own ideals, goals, and morals. Judge people on their own actions not that of their race. I hate it when I am called racist just because I am a White man.

Depends what you mean by racist.

Hating some one for their colour and creed, maybe culture is racist.
Questioning the practices of other races such as the female circumcision, stoning to death of women for adultery (or hanging), persecution for practising other types of religion, oppression of political opponents or any other human rights issue is not racist.

Saying no to all immigration and asylum seeking into this country solely on the grounds of race is racism.
Putting a cap on economic migration, clamping down on illegal immigrants and demanding to see justice done, and the 'missing' immigrant criminals (murderers, paedophiles, rapists and violent disturbed individuals among their numbers) rounded up and deported, as they were supposed to be is not racist.

The word racist is bandied about too freely these days, and used to shout down those who want a balanced debate on important issues within immigration and cultural differences.

The denigration of anyone's lifestyle which is not imposed on other individuals is racist.
The council trying to ban easter, christmas and other national holidays public decoration 'so it doesn't offend other faiths' is obscene, treacherous and extremely offensive, nay racist, to the indigenous population of the UK who have celebrated without friction in the community for hundreds of years.

The political correct brigade have turned into anally retentive b@stards.

Alot of what comes out of our mouths when we're angry as been long ago programmed by family, friends, pop culture. When you hear racial slurs, you recognize that they're weapons that can wound others, so your mind tucks them into a subconscious armory. Then they're suddenly called up and used in the moment your conscious control slips.
POP! Out comes the "N" word!
You obviously know what's right, so don't beat yourself up about it. But work to dig those racist phrases OUT of your mind.
Before you say something to a not-so-understanding person who takes a shovel to your head!

I think everybody who says they are not a racist is lying. Everybody is a racist to some degree or another (even if it's to the slightest degree). This is not a bad thing, it's human nature to feel threatened by something we don't understand / know and that's all racism is - we don't understand each other's cultures and so fear them and don't respect them and mock them.
