Can any nursing moms give me advice? We are registering for baby gifts and I don't know which would be better. The major issue is the price of the double pump.

ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE!!

It will take less time to pump if you have the duo. I had a mechanical pump and was really happy with it. It only took 15 minutes. When your baby arrives you won't have time for much, not even a shower so I would suggest the Duo. Although you could nurse from one side and while nursing pump the other side.
Congrats on the baby!

It depends. If you are going to nurse, you don't need either one. If you are going to be away and want the baby to get your pumped milk, then you will need a pump.

If you expect to have to pump occasionally, then a single pump is fine. If you will be returning to work and pumping for several meals every day, then the double pump will save you time *and* give you a lot more milk. Since you don't know right now if you will pump plenty of milk easily (in which case a single pump would be fine) or only with difficulty get any milk at all (and need the double pump), you have to make your best guess.

I know the duo seems great but I use the regular Avent Isis when i'm at work. It actually works better for me than a double electric pump. If price is an issue go for the single, it's a very effective pump

I agree with getting the duo. Also if you're ever trying to increase supply or for some reason you don't pump a lot(I don't and my supply is fine) it's a life saver. The other thing to consider is if you are going back to work it helps to get as much as you can quickly. Congrats!

I know they are expensive but the last thing you want to skimp on is your breast pump! It will be something that you will use EVERYDAY if you are working at all and it will not only take forever to pump but will also HURT if you don't buy a good one. I and most hospitals will tell you to save up your money and get a Medela. Wish you luck!
