50:1 is the correct answer. A rich mixture 40:1 or 25:1 can and will damage the motor by causing it to run lean on fuel. Use a good brand of oil from a outboard engine manufacture, not an oil company. Use 87 octane fuel with fuel stabilizer and use some QuickClean from Mercury every couple of tanks. Nothing else.
You will mix 1 pint of oil to 6 gallons of gas, most bottles have the amounts in smaller quantities.
