By the way, this isn't homework. I'm self training in mathematics after missing it for the past five years. Any formulas and logic will be appreciated.

By simple average, I assume you mean the "mean" or the result when the values are added, and divided by the number of values added.

If so, then you would find the value of x, y, and z. Add them together and divide by 3.

In this case, x = 36, y = 18, and z = 12.
Added together, the result is 66.
Divided by 3, the average is 22.

There are other "averages" in mathematics or statistics. One is the median, in which case you list the values in order from least to greatest or greatest to least ... which would be 36 (one time), 18 (two times), and 12 (three times) ... so, it would look like this (in greatest to least order):

36, 18, 18, 12, 12, 12
The median is the MIDDLE number, but there is no middle number (so take the "mean" average of the two numbers in the middle, 18 and 12) which gives 15 as the median.

The other average is the mode, which is the value that occurs most often ... which is 18 since it occurs 3 times.

The three averages are:
mean = 22 (which I think is what you are asking)
median = 15
mode = 18

X+y+z= 25 x+y= 19 considering the fact that there isn't any z interior the 2nd equation you subtract 19 from 25 and you get 6. interior the equation y+z=18 z is 6 so-sparkling + 6 = 18 and in case you resolve it y= 12

If x=2y=3z=36, then

x=36
2y=36
3z=36

Simplified...

x=36
y=18
z=12

Add those three numbers up and divide by three to get an average of...

22.

Hope that helps.

mean = (2 + 3 + 36)/3

the formula for the mean of n numbers = sum of (X1 + X2 + ... + Xn) / n

median = 3

x = 2y = 3z = 36
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To find x:
x = 36
----------------------
To find y:
2y = 36
y = 36/2
y = 18
----------------------
To find z:
3z = 36
z = 36/3
z = 12
----------------------
Therefore:
x = 36
y = 18
z = 12

To find the average: (the sum of x, y, z and divide it by 3)
---> (divide by 3 because there are 3 variables which x, y, and z)

average = (x + y + z)/3
average = (36 + 18 + 12)/3
average = (66)/2
average = 22
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The average of x, y and z is 22
