in the first trilogy we are told that yoda was obi wans master but in the prequels we learn that it was qui gon gin

Qui-Gon Jinn obviously... didn't you watch the phantom menance? Anyway, in the Jedi world, there will always be a pair. The master and the apprentice. Qui-Gon died so obi-wan kenobi(its spell this way) became master while anakin became the apprentice. Since the Siths were actually jedi once the same thing is being practise
