Help me. Tell me if there is any way i can do this.are there any settings for the comp in control panel that i should change?

i don't know how to add ports,I can't find the option anywhere.where is this usb port hardware addition option??

your k700i mobile is detected only in mobile sw ,not device
manager.only cable is detected in device manager.
1.Buy a dcu-11 usb cable with cd
(dcu-11 cable is suitable for sony ericsson all models-excepte
k750i,z520i)
2.insert cable with pc.
the pc detect the cable and ask the driver for cable now use the cd.
install driver for cable and software for downloding.
and note "which com port is used for dcu11 cable"
(device manager\comports)
"mobi mb" is easy and best software for mobile multi media downloding.

Go to "add/remove hardware" in the control panel. Look for the USB ports in the listing of hardware and click the troubleshoot button. Follow the bells and whistles (it's pretty easy) and when you get to the screen about drivers, update or reinstall the drivers.
You can also try reinstalling the sony's drivers from their website.
A driver is just another name for the software that makes the hardware work.
Good luck, I know how frustrating that is.

Insert Software CD and gfollow the instructions or ask some computer engineer

for xp user. go in control panel and than click on phone and monitor options. in new window click on com ports and enable all com ports. now try again, it surely will work. if u have bough data cable from local market may be there is something wrong with cable too. check out wat works out for u.
