DNA has nothing to do with it like Dyed hair. But DNA is collected from the shaft and the inside of the hair.

yeah..hair colouring might damage part of the physical part of the hair but the dna within the hair is still there and can be extracted. hair is made of the material called keratin which is strong and found in examples such as nails etcx. Hence, u cna imagien how well protected the dna then *winkx*

I think so. I'm no forensic expert but having watched many episodes of CSI, I think the DNA comes from the root, not the hair shaft. The question made me laugh, because if they had to scrape through the dye jobs on my head, it would be like counting the rings on a tree trunk to estimate it's age.
