Next step is to learn how to add licks and riffs into the mix. Before you try and play the whole of Clapton's solo from Crossroads : ), here are a few pointers.

Learn the minor pentatonic scale.

Look up tabs of basic blues riffs. A good source is wholenote.com under Beginner's Lessons.

There are lots of good book & CD learning courses. The 'Start Playing' series by Amsco Publications isn't bad, and they have acoustic and electric blues mini-courses.

Later, you'll need a CD of simple blues backing tracks to jam over - many of these mini-courses have these tracks on the CD.

There are more options - check the net, check the bookshops, and practise like hell!

"I woke up dis morning...I was feelin' poor...blew all mah cash on dem guitar books...now my wallet be sore..."

Just kidding, it's a good investment!
