Hello dear!
Not only you reply properly, but your questions are also great!
Well, since people have been getting away from Mother Nature, we accept less energy from Sun, Earth, etc. So, we get more and more dependent on items man made but requiring concentrated energy! Think about it: if we were living closer to nature, we would need less and less "batteries"!
Keep up the good work and step by step let us return towards our Mother Nature!

Maybe it's because your a robot and need those batteries for emergency power in case the other batteries in you burn out.
OR maybe your an outdated robot who constantly needs to upgrade and the only form of upgrading is by plugins that require batteries to be completely operable.

Are batteries required? Or do they just come with them?

I think that it means that you need more boyfriends. Or start spiking their food with Viagara.

There's a morale clause you sign when you become a teacher. Funny how these things make their way to local school boards.
