Download any one of these programs and you can start using them to download songs. With them you need to have a media program (such as WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER)
With these programs you can also download pictures, text files and other programs (even small games and demo's)

Lifewire is the fastest program I have ever known, it is pretty good for downloading music and movie.
When searching the music vdo use the vdo tab and on the same way audio for audio tab. All Files tab can get a lot of result but use it when Audio or VDO tab could not find the file you are looking for. For audio music you can use the name of the artist or the title of the song but do not use both in the same time. From the Audio tab you also can find through drop down Genre menu for example: Select the Hip-Hop and click the Search then you will find many results, from those result you can expand the search again by right-clicking on the name of the song then “Search More”.
Smallest file MP3 under 200KB are probably junk so avoid to download.
Do not download many files at one time because it will slow your downloading speed, higher the bit rate the better. T3 or Higher (fastest), T1, Cable/DSL and Modem are also downloading speed respectively.

Lime wire or frostwire....i found frostwire alot cleaner with less crap and corrupt files. Both are free. Or bearshare...just make sure you create a file with one or two songs in it then go to tools and and change the file you share fron the file that you store all of your music to, to the one with the two songs or you will find that most of your download speed gos to pple uploading from your large file. As this is shareware.
