In reading some of your prior questions, I see you've asked about hair and nails and such...
I think the most noticeable thing about crossdressers is the facial hair, and I would recommend (for those that can't afford an arm and a leg for laser treatment) a good facial hair remover like "Lineance" (lineance.com), then using a good hair growth inhibiting lotion DAILY. (takes awhile for full benefit)
Next, to kind of mask the manly jawline, A hair cut with wispy layers, and pull them forward around your face to frame it lightly. ( Nancy Wilson of the band "heart" used this technique to frame her face in videos to hide her weight gain...and it worked!)
Don't go for so much of a "Glamorous" make-up look...Use a full coverage water-proof base and translucent powder (not luminescent)....with your skin tone, use browns and use golden tints to highlight under the brow. Easy on the liner, and use your fingertip to gently smuge it for a sexy look. Stay away from red lipstick, it screams "hey look at me", Use dark shades of brownish gold. Easy on the blush, but match it with the eyeshadow. Loose powder tends to show lines and wrinkles more than pressed powder. Go for length, not fullness with the mascara. I like a bit more than the natural look, but, less is truely more. Just don't over-do it.
Your hairstyles for a night on the town are great by the way, and would still be striking with less and lighter makeup.
Finally, nails........go for natural , french or neutral shades of polish. You can still be very feminine without everything screaming "I'm a woman"....Don't draw too much attention to the things you believe make us women feminine by over-doing them....thats what makes it obvious!
I think you have done a great job at making yourself glamorously beautiful....just remember that you can also be demure, and be more sexy that way without drawing too much negative attention.
When we, as women go for the glam, it's usually because of some Gala affair, we are less dramatic when going on a date or out shopping. When any woman is overdone for the occassion, she will draw too much attention because she is OBVIOUS. So the same applies to men who are dressing as women.
In short, If you're going to a Ball, go glam, if yo'u're going to the steakhouse or the bar, whether its Friday or Tuesday, go demure.
Hope this helps you better understand how and why most of us "know the difference".
I would also like to make a comment about some of these judgemental jerks who have nothing better to do with their time than surf around looking for people to harrass...If it were them, how would they feel about being judged by people who haven't taken the time to get to know them? (and once we've seen what asses they can be, why would we want to know them?)

1. Wear an attractive scarf or turtleneck to keep your Adam's apple from showing.
2. Wax your face or have the hair lasered off. There's nothing more unfemme than a five-o-clock shadow.
3. Don't dress too young for your age.
4. If you're about 6 ft. 3, there's little we can tell you on here to make yourself more fem. Yes, there are tall women, but if you're tall and you're a guy, you're not going to look femme. No matter what you do!
5. Don't pile on too much makeup. Real girls don't need or want to wear that much.

Hi Sammi
The problem a lot of CDs (and TSs) make is that they overdo the make-up. They end up looking a bit like Bet Lynch. Tone down the make up - less is more. I realise you probably need a lot of foundation, but try to go for a more subtle effect.
Many cities have groups that meet once every so often where beauty therapists give tips and do demonstrations, perhaps you could try contact one of them?
There are many people who will be willing to help. Not everyone has the ignorant reaction that some of your answers here have given. I wish you the best of luck.

Dont we all!I know personally getting a new hair cut & stlye & make over helps,Also a bit of shopping therapy. But you know what , to me we are all that and more inside us, bringing out the FEMME is not hard, it's liking who we are completely, flaws and all is tricky. Take a good look at youself in the mirror and see what you absolutely adore about your self inside & out, and then take this out with you, maybe with a new outfit, different style of make up worn lightly ,but sexy, and I am pretty sure the "FEMME" will explode.Che` che` la "Femme".

Keep the makeup light. Harsh makeup(dark colors) will attract to your masculine features. Do not use black eyeliner, use a smoke color or a soft black. If you ever notice the lines of the face on man vs. woman, you will know what I'm talking about. Also, shading works wonders to thin out the jawline and elongate the face. You can pretty much find tips anywhere on the internet, but maybe you should try one geared for your particular situation.

Dont try too hard, i always see cross dresssers and you can tell them because they are trying too hard!
Just go natural and be yourself dont go all girly and flappy girls arent camp... they're girls.
Good luck and have fun with it!
Dont be afraid to spend quite a bit on make up the cheap stuff can look trashy. go for golds and softer colours like that, browns yellows ect.
EDIT: you can be tall and look femme i think, but dont stoop just stand tall and be proud!

Put on clothes that make you feel attractive and comfortable.
Never let another woman or magazine tell you what looks good on you. When you look good you'll know.
Find a cross dressing community that can give you even better tip and experience that can help you with your femininity.

Go immerse your head completely in water and count to a million. This should fix the problem you have (i.e. the fact that you're a cross dresser.)
