Here is a tip I just received about a week ago. Sprinkle Aspartame, the artificial sweetener found in NutraSweet and Equal. Sprinkle the contents of the packages around wherever ants are, whether in the house or outside. I understand it works "miracles" on getting rid of all kinds of ants including Fire Ants. I have not tried it so good luck!

I don't think moth balls will work, they are for moths. I would first do a good cleaning of your countertops and any other areas where the ants are climbing. Then, go to home depot and ask about an ant bomb, and set the ant bomb off when you know there will be no one in the house for a specified period of time (it should say how long on the package).

I had the same problem and the guy that sprays my house said ants are really bad this year as they were last year and he said even the rich folk were having problems with ants. Get somebody to come and spray your house and make sure they spray really good around your windows and doors.

ants, mice, cocroches, the only way to get rid of all of them is to get rid of the source of food. For ants that is usually sugar and sweets. Somehow somewhere you have sugar or any other type of glucose, carbohydrate type element in your house present. It could be water melon juice that spilled previoudly and is left dry or something else. Where ever the ants are find what they are feeding on and you will find the source. Eliminate the source and the ants will take care of themselves.

I read that if you buy some borax laundry soap and mix it equally with powdered sugar and sprinkle it around the outside of your house that it will keep them out.. i know the borax and water kills weed for you but i have never tried it for ants.. so i am going to pick up some borax and mix it with sugar and see if it works for mine .. the ants are driving me nuts.
I have found the borax laundry soap in some bag and Save grocery stores..

try putting uncooked grits down. They carry them back to their nest for the other ants to eat. Once they eat them the saliva causes the girts to swell killing hte ants.

We've had good luck with Terro products. Takes a few days, as they have to eat the stuff and take it to the queen. Eliminate the queen and the colony is history.
