No, it's not fair, but they still expect us to be gentlemen anyways, and if I was being badly treated by a lady i would still be a gentleman as it is not good to be beneath one's self and act like a cad or bounder... really good word use there I think... haven't used cad or bounder for a long time or even seen it used... tee hee

Great Question! I think women need to be more Lady-like. It
isn't fair to men, nor females period.

Of couse.

One is a gentleman not by social and peer pressure but because he wants to be one. It is not expected of one, but a gift to those around him.

Furthermore, being a gentleman to unladylike women seriously tests you patience. Which is a challenge. Which is fun. =)

That depends to what extreme "not being a gentleman" you are talking about.
If your talking in sexual terms?

No means NO!

If in general like opening doors etc. Well that all depends on your personality. Are your own person and stand by you principals no matter what? Or are you a person who base their personality and principals on others' characters?

Yes it is fair. Men are the stronger gender and should lead by example.

No, my friend, it is not fair.

But a man is not a Gentleman because of the expectations or actions of others toward him.

A man chooses to be a Gentleman because to him he believes it is the honorable way to conduct himself and because ultimately it benefits him to be so.

Perhaps you should ask them this question the next time one is acting that way. They may get the hint and be a little nicer to you.
