As I understand it, one would have to allow the government access to their travel history and then you may for example, clear the security line through fingerprinting as a "known" traveler. Very intrusive, a politiclly incorrect move, but I am wondering if it is the best way to address new and imaginative threats.

I know there are a lot of people that have no choice but to travel by air. I couldn't agree with you more that something has to be done. The governments do not want to be intrusive or politically incorrect. Consider when President Bush was using the methods of tracking terrorists and the people screamed we think this is against our privacy. There is hardly a single way to protect people from the viciousness. People are more concerned about their privacy than their safety, until directly involved. So this is the go round question. How do we as a world stay safe from terror threats and ambitions?

How about false and imaginary threats? We have absolutely no evidence that this wasn't just the government saying "let's give them a bit of a scare so they get back in line" - exactly the same as it was when they sent tanks to heathrow when the stop the war march was going on, and when they shot an innocent man in Forest Gate. And how convenient, it came at a time when Israel and Lebanon was on the front page of EVERY newspaper, not just the "liberal" ones. Why don't we wait for evidence before introducing invasive and draconian laws?

Whether we "permit" it to be done via new regulations or not, it will occur. However, it cannot always be accurate.

For example, we know it is those of Middle Eastern ethniticity that was responsible for 9/11 and in the planning of those attacks recently foiled. But, many of those Middle Easterners are now recruiting blonde hair, blue eyed individuals, also those of Asian descent, to carry out their attacks. If we go with racial profiling, it won't work.

Racial profiling is not the answer. Profiling based on many other factors, yes.

I'm pro, er, profiling. Muslims have proved that they're the ones trying to blow up planes, not 80 year old grandmas in wheelchairs on oxygen.
I got pulled out of line once and these military guys took me ro a room and went through my luggage, etc. I never felt so humiliated. Goddam all Muslim terrorists for altering air travel!

Only naive would believe in these threats. These are all made in House of White Lies (WHite House). 9/11 was a controlled deomolition carried out by Neo-Cons and Zionists. Many Muslims were killed in this attack. As a Muslim I can say confidently that All Muslims condmen this attack. Islam does not approve killing of any innocent. It does not allow killing of elderly, children,. women and those not figthing even in war. It prohibits burning of enemy' crops and demolishing of their worship places. Muslims gave civilization and all modern sceinces . They want to defame Islam and deviate your attention from Israeli brutalities in Lebanon where Muslims and CHristians are being massacred by your tax dollars.
