This is more of a statement than an answer as I find the question ask to be ludicris(stupid).. Japanese automobile taillights are shaped that way to fit the contours of the car body's not intentionally to look like eyes although they did get the attention of a small minded person... I have owned several Japanese cars both Lexus and Infiniti and neither of which the lights looked like the squinted eyes you refer in your question. I hope that you read this message so that you will no how ignorant you sounded in asking such a stupid question..

first of all: m b, I don't think this is a ludicris question. I think it's quite clever to see how some people are creative in how they look at the simple things in life. I consider creative people to be highly intelegent and if I was the designer of most of the cars in Japan, I would be flattered that someone thought of that. Be a kid at heart and be real. I think you are ludicris for being stuffy and shallow. Lighten up: This is a fun question.

And now to answer the question.

I've noticed the back of cars in the night time before. My nieces and I have taken trips where we noticed certain types of vehicles have different personalitie. And when a car turns or changes lanes, it winks at you. Kind of like that cute car movie out in theaters "cars". I love it. Cars having personalities: I love that idea.
