Never heard of the term. According to me any animal product should be considered non-vegetarian.
The poultry farms are of 2 kinds. One is where hens are raised for producing eggs. The other is called broilers farms where chicken are raised for meat.
The eggs produced in such poultry farms are normally not fertilized by a rooster, therefore will not produce chicken, even if incubated. Such eggs are often referred to as Vegetarian eggs.

vegetarian cannot eat egg -- as you know eggs will evetually hatch into chicken, ducklings etc.
but, however, vegetarian CAN eat egg that is NOT FERTILIZED by male's sperm. just the ovum (later develope into egg), without sperm, therefore it will not hatch into babies. so, eating these eggs is just like eating chickens/duck/birds byproduct (like cow's milk). it is not killing a life, therefore not a sin.
i'm not sure if your 'vegetarian eggs' is the same thing i mention here/ but most probably it is.

If you are speaking of the ones they sell in the grocery store then yes the hens are not fed any meats, hormones or antibiotics (other hen eggs may have been fed this stuff to make them grow bigger). The hens are fed only grains and soy products, things that a hen should only eat.

Vegetarian egg is that egg which is not at all hatched by hen...........
when u brake the egg the whitish spot on yellow bulk is embryo,,,,,,,,,,,,, from that embryo starts developing,,,,,,,,,,,,,
just by seeing that whitish spot u can easily differentiate whether that egg is developing or not.............. but egg is vegetarian before the development of primitive steak,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
