Money/family is not a reason to me married. There is no circumstances that are accecptable to have sex outside of the marriage, even if the partners agree. Any kind of cheating is wrong, even if the other person knows, and doesnt care...why be married??? theres nothing there, so why waste your life? i just know its wrong, and the marriage should end no matter about money or family, neither one will be happy if they are still together, but dont love eachother. i think its in the best interest to seperate, and find happiness.

Can it work? Sure.

I've seen loveless mariages go on for more than 50 years.

However, it ceases to be a marriage in any meaning other
than legal.

More interesting are cases where the married people are
still very much in love but are not sexually satisfied. Those
are VERY unstable. They generally don't last beyond a
couple of years.

There are exceptions - but few and far between.

Of course, most people will happily sign up and say that
they will be the exception.

This is the same reason why states use lotteries to generate
revenue - people are notoriously bad at recognizing that
statistics apply to them too.

No, because its going to be like, when everybody is late to work and everyone is trying to find that good parking space, all at the same time. Some is going to be left out. And angry, remember the words ( Went postal ).

For right now, the party is in agreement and say, its fine for all to have sex, or not to, but when it really happends, toes and going to be stepted on.. ouch..it don't matter if its for love or money.
All that stuff goes out the window, when the green monster stepts in... ( envy, greed, jealousy,)

If they are both in agreement there is not reason why it won't work. There is always the possibility the person in the open end of the marriage might become emotionally involved instead of just sex.

Noooo, I definetily do not think so, I mean then why did they get married in the first place? I thought marriage meant that you are suppose to stick with one person, hopefully forever, right?! Or else it´s just like you´re single and you can do whatever you want?
No, don´t get that at all

no i don't believe that can bring total happiness....too much emphasis on any aspect of marriage which is passed onto an outside member, whether it be sex, friendship, secrets, heartache etc will eventually break up the marriage as it stands and happiness for both parties will dwindle and neither will fill satisfied.

What's the point in getting married if you're going to do that? Marriage is all about sharing your life (and bed) with one person for the rest of your life.

Open marriage can work, if two people really want it to work. There is no doubt you can have enjoyable sex with other people without love.

Good luck to them.

What if they get emotionally attached to someone they are having safe sex with? It will all end in tears.
