My grandaughter has a book week dress-up day soon and she is going as little red-riding hood. We need a pattern with a hood.

My daughter was little red riding hood a couple of years back.

I used a pattern that appears to now be out of print. The dress part could have been used for Dorothy too - it was made of red and white gingham (kind of Heidi-ish), and had a white apron. The cloak wasn't too hard. I found a couple of Butterick patterns that may work for you to get the cape.

Sure she does. Admit it, you're just a four year-old who has developed super powers and needs to come up with a costume fast. Good luck fighting crime, but you're on your own with this one.

Simplicity or McCalls has childrens capes in their costume section.
