At birth, all bones will have formed, but a newborn baby has more bones than an adult. On average, an adult human has 206 bones (according to Gray's Anatomy, but the number can vary slightly from individual to individual), but a baby is born with approximately 270 bones which fuse together to reach the number of 206 bones of the adult body.

The longest and heaviest bone in the body is the femur and the smallest is the stapes bone in the middle ear. In an adult, the skeleton comprises 20% of the total body weight.

Ok, thought I'd stop by and correct a BUNCH of people... The newborn baby has no bone in it's body. Everything is cartilage. Every 6 year old has no bone in their body either, although some of the cartilage has fused together by that time. You start out life with flexible cartilage in your body, and the more calcium you ingest, the longer your cartilage will last. Eventually, you have 206 bones in your body. The smallest being in your ear, btw....

the adult skeleton contains 206 bones, the skeleton of an infant contains 350 (the bones fuse together as you grow). And more than half of your 206 bones are found in your hands and feet.
